Domestic Violence

Sadly we see it all too often in the news these days, reports of domestic violence seem to come in every day of the week, a very alarming trend.

It is painful to consider that so many families are suffering because someone they should be able to love and trust fully has broken that promise.

And such person is treating them so terribly, so much so that there are very strong laws against it!

If you or someone you love is the victim of domestic violence, then you must seek help from the authorities right away!

Unfortunately, there is still another wrinkle to this sad situation.

Estranged and vengeful family members have wrongly accused innocent people of committing domestic violence!

In some cases, it turns out the claims of abuse were fabricated to seek revenge for some perceived wrong.

If you or someone you know is in that situation, urge them to engage the services of domestic violence lawyers in Sydney who can help expose the lies and clear their good name!

A resentful family member wrongly accusing someone is, in fact, yet another form of domestic violence!

This is a very painful topic to discuss, but people need to understand more about domestic violence.

So we will now take a closer look at this tragic problem.

Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence

We should all understand that family and domestic violence can affect people in many kinds of relationships, for example:

1. Relationships between caregivers of people who suffer from a disability or debilitating medical condition, as well as the elderly.

2. Relationships that are current or past, including those that are or were intimate, such as dating or living together, regardless of sexuality or gender.

3. Relationships between minor children and their relatives and guardians.

4. Relationships among culturally recognised family groups that may seem non-traditional to others.

Make it clear that family and domestic violence isn’t necessarily physical; it can be emotional as well.

Abuse can happen to anyone, at any time, of any age, gender, or sexual orientation.

Abuse can happen anywhere, at home, at work, at institutions like schools, religious institutions, or in care homes.

It can even continue to happen after a person has left an abusive relationship!

Let’s be clear: the person experiencing abusive behaviour is never at fault.

It is always the fault of the person performing the abuse!
